Summertime Jewelry Care
While summer is a great time to show off your jewelry wardrobe, here are a few tips for protecting your sparkle during the summer months.
Remember that fine jewelry should not be worn in the pool, jacuzzi or ocean as both chlorine and saltwater can cause irreparable damage to some gemstones and the alloys in gold and silver jewelry. Exposure to chlorinated or salt water may cause discoloring, cracks, weakened solder points on mounting and more.
Sand may scratch some gemstones, and the build-up of grime from suntan lotions and dirt can damage prongs and loosen set stones. So try to wash away any grime after a day at the pool or beach, and then come by once a month to have us professionally clean/polish your jewelry and check stones and prongs.
Have a Sparkly Summer!
